Eventide Privacy Policy

Where faith finds rest. The short answer: your spiritual life is yours.

Effective 20 July 2026 (covers app version 1.0)

This policy explains what Eventide (Kiryl Zhukouski, an independent developer, "Eventide," "we," "our") collects, why, and what we never do. The short version: we built Eventide so that the most intimate things you write stay on your device and in your own private iCloud, we run no ads, we use no third-party tracking, and we never sell data.

Your journal, mood notes, highlights, bookmarks, and saved verses. Stored on your device. When you are signed into iCloud, they also sync to your private iCloud database (Apple CloudKit) so your data follows you across your devices. This database belongs to your Apple Account; we cannot read it. We run no server of our own that stores journal or mood content.

Your account. If you create an account, we store your email address and authentication data with our backend provider (Supabase) to sign you in. If you continue as a guest, an anonymous session is created that contains no personal details.

Messages you send to the Companion. To generate a reflection, your message and your reading preferences (for example, the voice and tone you chose) are sent over an encrypted connection to our server function and then to our AI provider (OpenAI) for processing. This is the only content that leaves your device besides account sign-in. We do not use your messages for advertising. Per our provider's API terms, content sent through the API is not used to train their models. Nothing you write in your journal is ever sent to the AI.

Usage analytics, on this device only. The app keeps a small, anonymous event log (for example, "app opened," "reading session started") stored only in the app's local storage on your device. It contains no names, no journal text, no verse text, and no message content, and it is never transmitted to us or to any third party. You can turn analytics off in Settings, which also erases the log. We use no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.

Purchases. Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment card, bank details, or billing address. We receive only an anonymous entitlement status ("this install has Eventide +").

Notifications. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device. We do not run a push-marketing system.

We process account data to perform our contract with you; Companion messages to provide the feature you invoke; and optional local analytics on your consent, revocable in Settings at any time.

Journal, mood, and reading data stay until you delete them, delete the app, or remove the app's data from your iCloud settings. Account data is kept while your account exists; email kirylapps@gmail.com to delete your account and associated authentication data. The local analytics log is capped, rolls over automatically, and is erased when you disable analytics or delete the app. AI processing requests are handled under our provider's API data-retention terms and are not retained by us.

Data in transit is encrypted (TLS). Journal and mood sync uses Apple's CloudKit private database, protected by your Apple Account. Our AI requests are routed through a server function so that no API credential ships inside the app.

Eventide is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Most Eventide data you can view and delete directly in the app or in your iCloud settings; for anything else, email kirylapps@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

We will post any changes here with a new effective date, and material changes will be noted in the app.
